Ø  Preliminary test

PCM process is very complex in nature, and it is not well understood how the different process parameters influence the etch factor. ANOVA technique has been used to assess the quantitative influence of the different process parameters of PCM.  The flow rate of etchant, the temperature of the bath and the type of etchant are the factors that individually and collectively affect the specimen surface dissolution process and its rate.

Ø  Selection of experimental design matrix

Experimental design matrix is a simplified method of putting together an experiment. The original development of the concept was by sir R A Fischer of England in the 1930. Three process parameters are selected for the experiments as the control parameters. These parameters are varied in three levels i.e. small, medium and high. In the present study, there are six degree of freedom owing to three parameters three level.
